Wow. 11 days after release, and already this software is featured on Softpedia, and, at the time of writing this, has had 262 downloads from this website alone! 26 through softpedia, and I honestly have no idea how many downloads on sourceforge because that site is ridiculous. The statistics never work, and it's just all in all a bloated pos. Sorry sourceforge. <_<

So, I'd like to thank you guys for your interest in the software. I never would've dreamed that it'd reach those kinds of levels, especially this fast! I'll be releasing a linux version, along with some new features, in the next few weeks - so stay tuned! :)

First Prerelease (Windows only!) Posted: 2009-07-26 11:12:06 - 37 comments

After over 700 downloads of the old Snippet Manager (windows only, C#.NET) I've decided that it's time for a rewrite. I've worked hard on this project, even on my birthday (because I have no life, let's face it) ;)

I mean, let's face it... the old one was a piece of crap~! Don't want people to get the wrong impression of my abilities here, it was my very first project. This time, it's actually pretty funky and I'm really proud of where I've gotten to so far. I've implemented pretty much everything that was in the old version, with a lot more cool features, including dockable workspaces and the online aspect.

Totalling around 2.8k lines of code, it's finally ready for a prerelease. There's lots to change, lots to do, but it's certainly a nice start, and I figured I'd share it with you. I'm not sure if I'll be keeping the application closed source, but I've got big plans for both the software and this website.

In the next release, I'll be working on making the application more secure, and clearing up a few bugs. In the meantime, I'd love for you to test it, report any bugs, and please please please feel free to contribute your own code to the public snippet repository - it's you guys who are going to be defining whether this application is a hit.

Now, I'll just get a quick commenting system up on these entries...
